Our Veterinarian

Dr. Carol Thompson

Dr. Carol Thompson

Owner-Doctor / VMD University Of Pennsylvania

Dr. Carol Thompson was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She grew up with many family pets and developed a love for animals. She graduated from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, with a B.S. in biology and a music minor. She attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where she received her degree in veterinary medicine in 1990. She has practiced in Maryland (1990-2001) and Florida (2001 to present). Dr. Carol has always been interested in behavior and enjoys making your animal feel at home in our facility.

Professionally, Dr. Thompson is interested in behavior medicine, fitness conditioning, medicine, and surgery.

Outside of work, Dr. Carol enjoys going to the gym for regular workouts and training her crew.

Brian Thompson

Brian Thompson

Owner-Office Manager / Chief Executive Pooper Scooper

Brian Thompson has been married to Dr. Carol since 1994. They moved to Florida for the veterinary business. Brian has worn many hats, from office manager to chief pooper scooper. Brian currently runs Cuppa Jo on the Go, a mobile coffee shop. He does many Lake Wales, Frostproof, and Winter Haven events. If the trailer is at the veterinary office and he is available, Brian will be more than happy to make anyone a coffee drink or smoothie to enjoy while they wait to see Dr. Carol. A portion of the proceeds from the coffee business go to Refuge on the Ridge, a ministry to help men recovering from addictions. When not serving drinks, Brian enjoys watching rugby, listening to music, playing the drums, and riding motorcycles.

Corri Shelton

Corri Shelton

Senior Veterinary Technician

Corri has been working for Thompson’s Veterinary Center since June 2012. Dr. Carol and Brian met her when she was working as a server at a local restaurant. Her ability to get Dr. Carol’s special orders correct and her kind nature led the Thompsons to ask her to join the team here at TVC. Corri has always loved animals and enjoys being able to help those fur babies who come through our doors. She has excelled at developing her fear free skills and is now using those to help with her technician and manager duties. Corri is married to Matt and has two children. She enjoys visiting new places, relaxing with her family, and has developed a love for practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Lauryn Taylor

Lauryn Taylor

Technician

Lauryn started working for TVC while enrolled in the veterinary technician program at Lake Wales High School. She joined the team at TVC in August 2016 before she graduated from Lake Wales High School in May 2017. Lauryn is our main surgery technician. In addition to these duties, she has taken the Zoetis Dermatology course and aids patients with maintaining control of allergies. She enjoys her part in helping animals to feel better and live a happy life. Lauryn enjoys visiting the beach and the springs with her family in her free time.

Erika Bulington

Erika Bulington

Technician/Office Support

Erika started with the TVC team in March 2018. Her primary duties revolve around managing client services. In addition to that, she enjoys making sure all the pets who come in get attention in the form of pets, treats, or both. Her specialty is making the cats comfortable. She has earned the nickname “The Cat Whisperer”. She enjoys geocaching, hiking with her friends, and spoiling her cats when not working.

Christopher Hostetler

Technician

Chris started work at TVC in early 2023. He comes to us with three years of experience in the veterinary field. While Chris enjoys working with the furbabies, he is currently studying to be a human nurse. Chris has three cats and two Golden Retrievers who help him with his studies. Chris’s hobbies include airsoft and video games.

Destiny Daniell

Technician

Destiny started work with TVC in August of 2023. Destiny is a graduate of Southern Technical College. She has had a love for animals since a young age and has always wanted to work in the veterinary field. Destiny has joined our team as a technician, has gained her Fear Free level 1 certification, and is planning on continuing to gain more skills in the veterinary field. When she is not working, Destiny enjoys going on adventures with her daughter.

Ragan Ogburn

Technician

Ragan joined the staff of TVC in September of 2023 as a veterinary technician. She is a member of the Class of 2025 at Frostproof Middle/Senior High School. Her goal is to continue her education in the veterinary field and one day become a veterinarian. She is a quick learner and is growing her skills with patients in the office and through the Fear Free program online. Ragan has several pets at home— including a turtle and a cow. When not at work, she is active in her church, shows cattle, and spends time with her friends.

Kaylee Ison

Technician

Kaylee started at TVC in 2022. She comes to us from the Lake Wales High School vet tech program. Kaylee has been active in FFA and enjoys showing pigs. She will be attending college in Georgia and plans on pursuing a career as a doctor of veterinary medicine.
